(September 4, 2019, 9:07 pm)Its very nice to see the reopening of an institution like Oakland House. The dining room is well run. Very busy during our visit but the service is excellent. Halibut prepared to perfection. Owner mingled with us and the other guests during the evening. Plan on coming back in 2020!

(July 18, 2019, 8:47 am)So glad the restaurant is back, we had a wonderful dinner here last night. Everything was perfect! We had the clam chowder, spinach salad, scallops and duck, and all was the best we've ever had outside of Portland!

They’ve just reopened the kitchen in the main house for breakfast and dinner (and those who aren’t guests at the cottages are welcome). Had a very nice breakfast with the fam: eggs to order, pancakes, and fresh blueberry muffins. Appreciated touches like local 44 North Coffee from Stonington. Great to have a solid breakfast place for a morning where you want to treat yourself (and affordable to boot).
