Otter's Waterfront Eatery

We stopped in for a bite to eat, and it was great. The food is wonderful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a must stop if you are near by.

Everytime I have wings, I think about Otter's. The absolute best wings I have ever had. The burger that I had didn't have much flavor, the half shell oysters had little shell chips, and my wife said the fish for her fish and chips was lacking flavor. My 4/5 review would have been lower if it wasn't for the wings. I will definitely be coming back for the wings when we return to Maine.

We had the shrimp and calamari appetizer. It would have been better if the size of the shrimp and calamari were larger. The crab cakes could have been cooked a little longer and only one side of the scallops were seared. The food tasted delicious and the service was fantastic as always.

We dropped in for a mid-Saturday afternoon lunch. The staff was very slow acknowledging our presence and slower to get us to a table. When we were seated, we began having second thoughts about staying but a server finally showed up to take orders. Many, many minutes later our beverages arrived and the food got there around 20 minutes later. Now, our food was very good. We had sandwiches, but they were tasty and generous. There was a replica sailing ship tied up to the restaurant’s dock so they may have had more business than anticipated. They may have also been understaffed, but that didn’t seem to be the case. We were in the restaurant well over an hour and a half for two sandwiches and beverages. The server was attentive after we were served and saw that we got things we asked for. But, our afternoon was pretty well trashed at that point. We are likely to go back to see if lassitude recurs and is part of their culture. The food was well prepared and tasty, but s l o w. Location is great. Slow isn’t.
