SALT BOX HANCOCK

Formerly Mama's Boy, this restaurant is located in a beautiful space with views over the harbor. Recommend sitting in the barroom if possible. Great drinks too.

Slow service, but it was a busy night. Portions were on the smaller side. No lobster (except in risotto). The bread and olive oil were great, and the mussels were good with a hefty portion. The salads and entrees were small, but tasty. I didn't care for the haddock and scallops but the venison and steak were great. Would give it another chance.

Make sure you make a reservation. The Salt Box is our most favorite restaurant in Maine. Make sure you order the fries with lemon sauce. All the plates were delicious, I especially loved the lobster Risoto. Also the Prime strip steak was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very professional and friendly.

We had a fine meal here. The atmosphere was impressive for such a small community and the service was good. The lobster risotto was delicious but the pasta Alfredo was less so. The duck fat fries and charcuterie board options were great. Wished they had draft beer.

The staff is so friendly. We took advantage of the great weather and sat on the front porch and enjoyed the view of the bay. Food was absolutely delicious.
