I highly recommend The Oak Table! Although not perfect ,the food was a big enough hit to outweigh a few misses. The hit: The food was outstanding. We didn't realize that this is a small plates restaurant until we saw the menu. But any doubts we had about not "getting enough to eat" were pushed aside when the food arrived. We each ordered 2 small plates and it was exactly the right size for each person.. Compliments to Chef Eli, everything we tried was perfect, from the beet risotto to the farm raised chicken to the sausage and lentil soup. The cheeses from Fuzzy Udder were excellent. Everything on the menu is farm to table and you can taste the difference. Misses: The service was inconsistent. After our food arrived, we didn't see our server again. Another server stopped over and handed us our check at the end of our meal. When we asked about dessert and coffee we were told they did not have coffee and only two desert that night, panna cotta and something else that did not appeal to us. One of our guests was celebrating a birthday and we really wanted something sweet to end the meal. That was disappointing. Please offer coffee and more dessert options! Another miss, the decor is a bit plain for my taste, a lot of hard surfaces for sound to bounce off of. Overall, 5 stars because the food is really the star here.

This was an unexpected find on the main drag in Augusta. First it has to be said that plate portion to pricing is on the low side. Expect to pay at least $22 for one person, because you will end up ordering two plates.
The good news is you can expect a wonderful gastronomical experience. This is a creative food environment that is worth the money. Go and try something new. You won't regret it.

Wow! Just watching Eli cook is a treat... everything we ordered was extraordinary, very creative and perfectly-sized portions, and even the cocktail menu was unique and creative!

Definitely a place we'll visit again when back in town!

Fantastic small plates that change weekly and don't break the bank from a fun and personable team.

Pair that with tasty and inventive drinks in a comfortable space downtown and you've got a hit.

Kudos to Chef Eli and the team. I'll be back, for sure.
