Boy, do I love this place.
Apparently so does everybody else: their phone's been ringing off the hook since they opened!
I usually try to give new restaurants a few weeks to settle in, but this place opened while I was in the middle of packing and moving and I couldn't resist some take-out in their first week.
Drunken noodles luncheon special was a HEFTY portion for the price, and delicious to boot. The spring roll was shatteringly crispy. The tom kha I added on was just as yummy as the rest.
I've been back a few times since and it's been consistently terrific.
I can't even imagine trying to open a new restaurant in the middle of the pandemic, but clearly there's some pent-up demand in the area because they've been super busy. Despite the onslaught, everybody I've dealt with at the restaurant so far has been incredibly friendly and cheerful.
Have some patience if you call, give them a few weeks to get settled in, and remember that we don't get that many new restaurants opening around these parts so we should cherish the ones we do get. Luckily, this one more than deserves our love!
Thai Spice's authentic cuisine is very fresh and tasty, and they have plenty of parking for pick-up orders during COVID-19. There is no median here so you can approach the restaurant from either direction on Western Ave.
Beware of the reviews about the wait time for food. I personally find these to be biased and misleading as this restaurant JUST opened. Of course they are going to be super busy and wait times may be longer than you'd expect; especially during a pandemic where the majority of their business will be ordered in advance.
This place has great food, have eaten there every week since they opened, and many people I work with love the food..ya its spicy its suppose to be, don't listen to all the pre-Madonna negative comments. As for the shrimp true Thai always has the tail shell on. My wife always loves the leftover lunches I bring home...getting some for dinner tonight! BTW I have eaten Thai all over the country.
Pretty tasty but, we ordered the Thai spice combo, you have got to remove the shrimp shell. All of the shrimp still had their shells on and it was extremely difficult to eat. Other than that it was tasty but come on guys...
Definitely a little pricey for the portions but the flavors are well defined and distinct, and some textures are well done. However they overcooked the meats in my meal both times. The Pad See Ew was too saucy and it's wide flat noodle was fairly poor, but I know how hard they are to really master. I'll be following Spice's progress. Good luck
