The hamburgers are worth a return visit, as they're meaty, flavorful, and the grilled onions pack even more flavor between the grilled buns. Their french fries are also yummy. Their potato salad, however, is the blandest version I've ever eaten. It seemed to be simply uncooked potatoes and mayo. I could discern no hard-boiled eggs or celery or onions or relish or even seasoning. It went largely uneaten.
Their hours are also erratic. They won't be open on a day they're supposed to open and they'll close early. So, it's worth a stop if they're open, but don't count on them to be serving during their stated hours.
We came here recommended by a friend who stumbled upon this gem during their first opening weekend, and BOY did it not disappoint!!! Definitely the best meal we had on our trip to Maine. The duck confit empanadas are a must, and I’m pretty sure John Favreau based his Cuban on the one we had here.
Completely unassuming, this roadside shack is slinging straight heat. Service was spot on (and coming from Brooklyn, loved chatting with that guy), tables were cute, and food was fire.
We love Maine, but Deirdres is giving us more of a reason to come back ASAP. DO ? NOT? MISS?
Where do I start with Deirdre's Roadside. First off, it's a small hometown joint right outside of camden. Second off, if you haven't been to Deirdre's you haven't quite lived yet! The food is made by hand from scratch with love and you can tell it in every bite. I've traveled up and down the states and this is a must stop for any local or traveler passing by!
Stop what you're doing and go to Deirdre's Roadside RIGHT NOW! Honestly, the best thing I've put in my mouth in a long time. We stopped randomly for dinner, and were treated with the world's best Lobster Roll, duck confit empanadas, and a cinnamon toast shake to finish it off. THE BEST! I would totally come back all the way to Maine just to eat at Deirdre's again. It was far better food than in the Portland restaurants, served quickly and with friendly smiles from the boys. Don't let Deirdre's your random stop, make it your DESTINATION!
Also enjoy the Starry Night painting whilst you eat. :)
Wow, I loved this place! The food was so delicious and the staff was so friendly! They even gave us free lobster chowder! If you are in the Camden area, make sure to stop by and try it! You seriously won’t regret it. It’s an amazing place for being 3 weeks old! Great job and keep up the good work!
