3 stars is being fair…. It could be less
We saw that this place was coming to town and patiently waited for it to open after what seems to be a year or more of set up and have been very excited about the drive up window service along with knowing that Mikes makes a delicious sandwich. Unfortunately, after ordering twice recently we were disappointed with the quality of the sandwich and apparent refusal to follow our requests such as, no oil and extra veggies. the option for more veggies is part of the ordering experience, yet we’ve got three sandwiches that have had half the sandwich without the tomato or pickles, or three pickles on a giant sub. Last time we orders, we thought it was a fluke and requested in writing with our online order that there be lots of veggies ( and no oil, vinegar) and the same thing happened as before. Oil and vinegar were on the subs, as well as the smallest amount of veggies imaginable, almost no pickles, or jalapeños or anything besides lettuce. It also seems that the roast beef which was very dry, is also called top round on a different sandwich but seemingly is the same meat. The bottom of the sandwich had no condiments on the bread when we asked for mayo and mustard on each sandwich and the top was wet with oil and vinegar and made the bread soggy. I’ve eaten at Mikes plenty of times before while living out west and haven’t had this issue, which is why I’ve written this review and feel disappointed. One more thing I have to say is I agree with the reviewer who mentioned it was a weird awkward experience with the employees, I understand the leaning curve of a new business, but the last time we went the clerk didn’t say one single word to me at all. It feels very weird indeed.
I’ve been here three times because I think the food is good. But the customer service is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever experienced. Everyone definitely feels new as it is a new location but even the trainers seem like they don’t want to be there. Idk it’s definitely an off putting environment every time I’ve been in there. Like I get the feeling that I shouldn’t be there.
New franchise opened in Topsham, ME. and 3 of us thought we'd try it out. They were quite busy at 1pm on a Saturday. We got in the line to order and it was very efficient. We each put in our choice and moved along as our cold cuts were freshly sliced in front of us and out toppings of choice were added. One of us wanted a Steak and Cheese and it was promptly put onto a flattop and cooked. By the time I had moved along line to pay at register, which took about 2 minutes, the Steak and Cheese was ready. The 3 of us agreed our subs were very good. Not sure of other Jersey Mike's in area, but this one did not disappoint. Two of us had the #13 Italian Sub, the way we wanted it and were pleased and Steak and Cheese was gobbled up, so that apparently passed also. Dining in seating was quite full with patrons. Nice addition to area "fast food" takeout.
New location but please don’t give me a to go sub with just meat on it.
Walked in early and newbies to Jersey Mikes. Back counter was crowded with staff and staff in training.... which might have been intimidating except for the fact that there were no less than 8 faces smiling at us!!! The subs were incredibly delish and when we walked back to the counter to thank them on our way out... 2 employees actually clapped and 8 faces grinned ear to ear!!
Infectious smiles, delicious subs, and just an overall great place.
