We ate here after our walk to Moxie Falls, a short drive away. It was a beautiful fall day, and we sat outside near the front entrance. Sitting there, we were able to the river across the road and the colorful fall trees. The view would be spectacular any time of year, but one would probably prefer to be inside on a Maine afternoon or day. I had a half-rack of ribs which came with coleslaw and a roll along a choice of two sides. I had roasted potatoes and carrots. My food was excellent. My wife really enjoyed her Autumn Quesadilla as did my daughter-in-law. The coffee hit the spot and for take-out as well. Our server was very helpful and attentive. I highly recommend eating here. Of course, the restaurant carefully follows Covid-19 mask guidelines and sanitation protocols.

When I was outside, some traffic that drove by honked their horns and yelled. I assume good times are often had here.... My burger was average but I ordered it without expectations anyways. My buddy had the Thai Fried Rice, which is well-known as delicious in the area. Also, the only asian cuisine around for miles.

Above all, super-friendly staff that interacts with the guests. Theres even a couple resident pooches that many customers adored. Indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect atmosphere for this part of Maine ?

We stopped in for dinner on the way to our camp about a week ago. Because of covid-19, we were going to eat outside, but decided it was too chilly. Going inside turned out to be just fine, because the place seemed very clean and well kept. The big, beautiful dining area has a comfortable feel, with several seating options, and big windows overlooking the scenic Dead River.
As to the food: We both thought that the Fish and Chips were quite good. I liked the Thai Red Curry, but my wife would take off a star, because it was a little sweeter than we're used to, plus she thought it was a tad pricey. But she's comparing it to the urban area where we live, which has several good, inexpensive family-run Thai restaurants. I'm glad that there is a new menu option in the Forks area.
Overall, considering Hawk's Nest's food, location, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness, I give it five stars.
PS The Bigelow Brown Ale is outstanding!
