This is an interesting venue. The grounds are lovely and the building architectural— but the food leaves much to be desired in this visitors opinion! When there is a great piece of fish to be had, it does not require one to fuss with it and nearly ruin it with all kinds of spices and sauces!!! This is what happens here! Leave it alone!! Their pizzas may be ok even though they are not true wood fired pizza. But so much additional stuff is just silly! Keep it simple is a famous expression for a reason!! I really would not eat here again. Too many other fine choices not too far down the road!
At the very top of my dining experiences. The restaurant is in a beautiful, out of the way setting, and absolutely striking when you walk in. We did not have a reservation, and got on the list to sit at the bar. In the mean time, we enjoyed fabulous cocktails from the outstanding bar staff, while sitting on a couch in front of the fireplace. When we moved to the bar, the staff were great, the food was some of the best ever. If you're in the Kennebunkport area, getting to Earth should be at the top of your agenda.
We took a chance at grabbing three seats at the bar, and scored! Our bartender was personable and professional, and though busy, took the time to answer all our questions and make us feel very welcome. We shared the wood fired carrots, the squash blossoms, and the street corn to start. All were excellent, but the carrots were exceptional; inspired, visually impressive, and the flavor combinations, right down to the mint on top, were exquisite. Following our appetizers, we shared the strip steak and the prosciutto pizza with squash blossoms and peaches. Both were full of flavor, thoughtfully presented, and cooked perfectly. The decor and ambiance rounded out our experience, including the fire crackling in the stone fireplace. We are already eager to return!
We had an absolutely wonderful meal last night. We arrived early to have a drink around the "Serenity Pool" and ended up staying in our spot to have dinner as well. The service was impeccable--friendly, professional and just solicitous enough. Our meal was, in a word, excellent. I had the salmon sashimi my dinner partner had the pizza Margarita to start--both faultless. We then had the special--a 20 oz bone in rib eye big enough to feed a small army (we took 1/2 home). It was a perfectly cooked medium rare and seasoned exactly as requested--with no finishing salt. To end the evening we shared the donuts with fresh vanilla bean ice cream. How do you spell "food coma"? Will we return? Without doubt!
Our experience at Earth was one of the absolute best meals we have ever had. Stunning vegetarian food, beautiful ambiance, exceptional service. Portions were larger than we expected. Three of us had a delightful meal where we shared four dishes (we are all vegetarian), drinks, and dessert for $110. Honestly, for the quality and creativity of the food, I thought it was reasonably priced. Treat yourself to this amazing gem. I hope to back someday (we are not from Maine).
