Golden Rooster

Golden Roster is a wonderful diner with breakfast all day and, I kid you not, the best clam cakes around. Everything is good. It's family owned and operated. It's been a fixture in Saco for decades.

I always love coming here. The greek owner is a great guy, the waitstaff terrific, love the food, definitely a spot that locals are regulars at. If you come here and want to try something new, get the spinach pie eggs Benedict, it's awesome. They also renovated the place!

I've been going to the Rooster (that's what we call it) since I can remember! My mom worked there when I was four and even before that and my dad cooked there before I was born. (I'm 41) It's still as I remember it as a kid. Best pancakes hands down although I did get the eggs benny, which also excellent. If you're in Maine on vacation, breakfast has to be had here!!

Stopped here for lunch while in the area for work. Hadn't been here before and was pretty impressed. Spinach pie was the highlight. Onion rings were also pretty legit. Only issue was that the buffalo chicken wrap could have used a bit more chicken. Flavor was good though. I'd stop by again.

I only go on Sundays where they close at 1pm then & serve breakfast. Small, comfortable & very friendly place. Breakfast is good tasting, made fast, & is cheaply priced. Love the golden rooster! ????
