Frankie & Johnny's

This is a restaurant for a real splurge and it is well worth it. Their meals are delicious and always different based on fresh ingredients.

Unusual place in that the restaurant on Rte. 1 is between York and Ogunquit in a very unpretentious structure with family souvenirs throughout the restaurant and a menu featuring vegan creations and unique salads in an vacation area featuring mostly seafood.
My seafood chowder was milky loaded with firm salmon pieces and fennel. The salads were outrageously good, arugula, fruits, mixed vegetable in ample portions to be digested with the BYOB white wine. A perfect combination to morph into a warm mellow mood.
My wife's sweet and sour pasta dish disappointed because the pasta, according to her, was sticky and overdone. I defer to her but my egg plant dish with spinach, sweet potato and tofu was excellent. I took half of the main plate home as the restaurants offerings are generous. Wait staff was more than knowledgeable and desserts at the other tables looked like they worth the calories. In its 16th year of existence, the restaurant has garnered a base of local clientele combined with lucky visitors drawn to its creative cooking

Amazing food and service. Frankie & Johnny's is one of those rare places that serves gourmet food AND large portions. Every single thing I've had there is perfection. Just keep in mind it's BYOB, and cash only. But totally worth it.

This was hands down the best meal I’ve ever had! What a unique and fantastic eatery. The hospitality alone was enough of a reason to go back again. The food was so fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. This is now a “must go” location for our yearly trip to Maine. But honestly, on any given day I’d drive the 1 hour and 45 minutes to eat there. Must try!

Let me tell you, If you could only have seafood once a year, Frankie & Johnny's is no doubt your destination! They take great pride in the preparation of their food and it shows with each and every bite. My tastebuds can attest to this! Even if seafood isn't for you, their menu has an assortment of delicious meals. I went with the seafood scampi, but understand I was also looking at the pork across the way! Everything just looked so good that our party of 7 was giving out samples to each other. It's the real deal.

Aside from the food, Frankie & Johnny's set up is very comfortable. It's as if they've invited you into their well kept luxurious home. As we all know, HOMECOOKED MEALS ARE THE BEST! When it comes to deciding if you're going to Frankie & Johnny's, don't question, just GO! You won't regret it.
