Owner was very nice, However, couldn't use the the ceiling fan as it was so covered with dust. Although the shower and toilet was clean, the toilet base was dirty. The room was very dusty 2 light bulbs burned out. When I contacted the owner and let him know, he indicated he hadn't been in the rooms for quite some time and blamed the person who cleans the rooms and who did his Spring cleaning. He made no attempt to correct the problem even though I told him to come by and take a look.
Excellent place to camp though on top of a hill so steep that, though it has ramps, I had to unload my bike to push it up. A short walk through the back of the lot and you're near restaurants and a coffee house.
We loved the location and affordability of this place as well as the ability to bring our dog. That being said, we stayed in the bunk bed room and had not realized prior to booking that the rooms do not have air conditioning. Also, the beds have only one very thin blanket so our kids were all freezing. We had brought two extra blankets with us and we gave them to our two youngest kids. But they were still cold and we froze. Next time, I'll pay a little more and stay somewhere where the beds have real bedding and the room has heat. If I had known that we needed to bring camping bedding (heavy sleeping bags) for 50 degree temperature, we could have planned better and we would have had a more positive experience. It was sad to hear our kids whimpering because they were so cold. We still had a fantastic time biking the GAP trail. Also, the Track and Yak station, which is located in the same spot, is a fun stop to play games, buy souvenirs, and grab a cold drink. We didn't track or yak but we had fun at the station.
Rest rooms/showers are extremely clean with clean towels available. They are serviced often and thoroughly. Laundry facilities for only $4 washer/dryer and soap. The camping is up a ramp from hell, and many mosquitoes the first week of July 21. The picnic tables in the camping area are in bad shape- mostly broken. The host is friendly and full of advice. Food and beverages for sale right there. At the bottom of the hill -this is a great place to stay. Camping on top- not so good.
