Sullivan's Cove

This place is new. It has a tavern feel to it. Great that they are open late but very disappointing that they don't serve a full menu late and very little food choice to eat if you dine after 9pm. The crab soup was great but the tomato and crab toast was awful. Was great they let me sample two wines before I choose which one I liked better. Prices seemed fair and we had a good wait staff. If they added more to the menu and served a full menu much later they will have a better late night dinning crowd. It is hard to find a good restaurant to eat at after 9pm without going into the city.

The food was ok, about what I expected from a place like that. Not stellar, but good enough to make me come back. I had the Sullivan smash Burger, my wife had the Stout smash Burger, and my daughter had the kids chicken fingers. We also got the candied bacon. So, as I said, decent food. Also a decent beer list.

So why not 4 or 5 stars? We had to wait 40 minutes to be seated and once we were seated our waiter, was abysmal. It took us prompting him twice to get the beer list, and when it came it was on a device that we had to scroll through quickly with him there to get an idea of what beer we wanted. When we finally picked out our beers, I had to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to come back and tell me the beer I selected was out of stock. We had to prompt him twice for a juice box for our daughter because they were out of kids cups that night. Thank God for the bus staff, I didn't catch her name, but she let me know there were no juice boxes and brought her a glass of milk. The waiter never brought up the juice boxes again. He also forgot our bacon until we prompted him again after our food was brought out.

From observing him, he only had 3 tables that I could see but the bus staff helped us more than he did. I don't mind waiting 40 minutes for a table, but at least make it so the wait staff assigned to my table knows what they are doing.

So, bottom line up front, good food but the wait staff experience makes me hesitate to come back again.

Edit: I forgot to mention that we had to ask for silverware twice and it was brought by two different people. First the bus staff (thank you!) And then by the wait staff.

I stop by yesterday around 4pm. A decent crowd for a Monday, nice and simple decor and long tables behind the bar maybe encouranging people to make new friends? The bar is also nice, 3 screens to watch sports and 1 more with the beer selections on the side. Bartenders were very friendly and the food (I only order 1 appetizer) was very tasty. I'll be back for a full dinner but seems to have a promising future! Well done.

Good start so far. Good beer selection and good menu. Still new so I anticipate they will continue to improve food which was good but not great. Would definitely give it a second try in a few months.

Without question, the best meal I have had in a very long time. From appetizers through dessert everything tasted as though they pay attention to the details that make every bite as delicious as the first, and all the flavors compliment each other. The restaurant provides wonderful dining experience with really great service.
