Food is always delicious. Chef Mike hooked us up with a scrumptious breakfast as always.❤️
Nice breckfast spot lunch too. Good food, good service they aim to please. Need a little fixing up but it's ok. No place to take a first date if ambience is the importance but if good eaten is, then it's a excellent spot. Drop in and enjoy. You'll come back, guarantee you will.
Wait staff is always very good. Food is very good as well, and it's neat to eat in a restaurant that's over 50 years old.
Removing one star because they're not flexible with substitutions. Example: omelettes come with three pancakes. If you don't eat carbs, you're out of luck. They will not let you substitute any meat (bacon, sausage, etc) and you pay the same price if you just go without the pancakes.
It's disappointing because this place is otherwise excellent. There's no good reason why they can't substitute $2 of bacon for a $5 stack of pancakes.
What a great find - the picky observer might say this place is a bit worn, but I see charm. Shirley's reminds me of IHOP without the corporate cold shoulder. It's warm and friendly. The staff is like being served a meal by an indulging mother or grandmother. My server Karen was amazing. She was kind, attentive and cared about my experience. The service at Shirley's was highlighted in nearly every review. I can see why. FOOD: I had a great 8oz sirloin with 1/2 pound of popcorn shrimp, large pile of broccoli, coleslaw, thick slice of garlic bread, and two coffees all for over 21 bucks. Price, service, and quality. It's not fancy, but it's what a pleasant restaurant experience should be - the sign says it all (see pic). Try it!
Today was the first time I tried Shirley's and, it will most definitely not be my last. Maria or Marie was my waitress; she was very attentive, patient and, extremely helpful. The food, I mean Everything was on point; I had the mixed platter which consisted of two pancakes, two french toast slices, grits, sausage patty and slices of ham. I left there full and satisfied. Thanks for everything... Keep up the amazing job!!!
