I've been looking for a new sushi restaurant in Owings Mills. So far I've been here twice, and they have the best sushi I had in a while from freshness, presentation and quantity. I like that they offer a variety of cooked sushi combinations. It does get busy certain hours (lunch and dinner), but it was worth the trip. Lastly, the staff was very helpful, and nicely explained the sushi ingredients to a novice sushi lover! I would recommend.
The most authentic ramen in Maryland. The waiter told me that I must try the volcano roll. It contains eel, avocado, jalapeño and spicy crab sticks on top. It is really delicious. I will be back for sure.
I was very excited for this place. There are no dedicated ramen specialty restaurants in the area. We ordered take out on the touch screens, which I really liked for a quick take out. When we paid $15 each for their Akira Ramen bowl. At that price I expected it to not be the best Ramen in Maryland, but at least pretty good quality!
Unfortunately, I was VERY disappointed with the food. Especially with the pork. It was almost like Pork version of Spam. Half fat and half meat spiral shape. Such a shame. If they want to charge $15 they need to be using better quality meat.
Always exciting when a new food option opens in the neighborhood, so I was really excited to try Akira Ramen. The atmosphere is simple yet cozy. Not a lot of space, so if you want to eat in I recommend arriving early since its relatively new. Once inside you order at a kiosk which is very unique. The have a variety of appetizers, sushi and ramen.
I ordered pork belly sliders for and appetizer and the sliced beef ramen. The pork belly sliders were delicious. Perfectly crisp on the outside, great smoky flavor and the bun was soft as a pillow. The ramen was seasoned well with creamy beef broth, tender slices of beef, ear wood, corn and a few other items.
I needed to add more heat to the dish so I did ask for hot oil. Overall, it was a good experience and I would visit again.
Got the shrimp tempura ramen bowl for $15. Thought it should be more nori, sprouts, etc. Plenty of broth but you can't choice the type of broth like the place in Belvedere Square. I don't do milk broths of anykind.
