As obsessed as I am with soup and the soup from this bistro specifically, this was my first birthday visit! I love this restaurant, the identical twin brothers who co-own it are 2 of my best friends whether they've pieced it together or not, and it's quite literally the friendliest place in Mount Vernon! If you don't believe that last line, you can ask my fave bartender from Iron Rooster Canton, Antonio, and he will back it up since he tends bar at the friendliest restaurant on the Canton Waterfront side of the Harbor! Amen!

Definitely a place to go. It’s very cozy, with big variety of options, and most important - good healthy soups. Prices are very very good too. First was worried about the portions, but soups are very nutritious so it wasn’t a problem. Sandwiches are good as well. Very nice place to hide from the city and enjoy warm meal

Delicious! They make their soup unsalted so that you can add your own. It's a small business so you are usually talking to one of the owners. I also really appreciate the variety of vegan and vegetarian soups. The soups change, but I've always seen more than one vegan option. I don't always eat vegan, largely because it's difficult, so it is really nice to have that option well-represented.

Man, I love this place. Very reasonable prices, all homemade soup, salads, and sandwiches, with a menu that evolves regularly and seasonally. Daily offerings include vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, or pescavore options on the menu board. Deals include any combination of two sandwich, salad, or soup--plus a "Pint Club" that gives you a free pint of soup after you have purchased 10 pints. Hot soups in winter, cold soups in summer, all made low salt and full flavor. (Sea salt, pepper, hot sauce, Old Bay, etc are available in the dining room.) There is a limited drink selection in-house, but folks are welcome to pick up drinks at the natural and organic store downstairs and bring them up. Owner/manager/cashier is super friendly and gets to know regular patrons by name. Diners are primarily University of Baltimore students, staff, and faculty. Place eat-in and take-out orders at the counter. Your food will be brought to you in the small and cheery dining room or bagged for carryout. A selection of soups are also frozen in containers to thaw and re-heat at home. This is one of those places where I always feel both healthy and satisfied after a meal. Highly recommended.
