As a visitor from the Midwest, I was told not to leave Maryland without having crab cakes. And they did not disappoint. The atmosphere here is really cool, and the food is so good. Definitely a must visit if in Baltimore.
Their crab cakes were the best I had in Baltimore. Also, they're about the size of a softball.
These are not fancy digs – it’s in the middle of a busy market, and you stand at the tables. But the seafood is definitely worth it!
The Jumbo LUMP CRAB CAKES ARE THE BEST THAT I HAVE IN MY LIFE.
I JUMP IN THE CAR AND DRIVE 2 hours with its well worth and if you don't want drive you can call place your order and FED EX will deliver it to you door. Now when I drive to FAIDLEYS SEAFOOD I BUY ABOUT 10-15 and bring them back home ????????
It's a Baltimore institution for good reason. The crab cake we had was nearly perfect - good spices, beautifully cooked, Chesapeake crabs, but it had more filler than it really should have had. Maybe I got a factory second because usually they have so little filler that they seem to be held together by magic. The oysters are fresh, sweet and exactly what they've always been - a simple, genuine local delicacy to be savored in one of the most "Baltimore" places in the city. It is absolutely worth a visit, especially if you're from out of town and want to see authentic Charm City.
If you're looking for a place to step back into 1960's eating history, eat here! The crab cakes are incredible, as well as the sides, should you choose a platter. The price is not cheap, but the quality is amazing. You can grab oysters and a beer, a crab cake platter and satiate your Maryland seafood craving in one fell swoop. The market is unique and full of additional adventures, should you choose to partake.
