Akira Ramen & Izakaya

Great service, and the food was tasty! Volcano Ramen had a nice kick to it. The fried chicken was also juicy and flavorful.

Gabe, Snow, and Lee were all excellent servers! My friend and I were stopping by to give it a try and were not disappointed.

I have been to Japan twice before and this was the most authentic Ramen I have had back in the states. The food was simply fantastic and I can't wait to go back.

Snow, Lee, and Gabe were FANTASTIC! Best servers I’ve ever had the pleasure of talking to. They were attentive and knowledgable about the food and helped me to choose something that I greatly enjoyed! If you’re looking for great Japanese cuisine go no further! Wonderful service, fantastic staff, and a great atmosphere. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!

The Good:
The food was tasty. I would recommend it and come back. LOVE the noodles. Straight and Curvy are perfect, with the right amount of chew to then. The manager/owner was extremely responsive to a highly disturbing incident that happened with our food. He quickly remedied the situation by remaking the ruined dish, offered multiple apologies and comped the offended meal. Great service there. Could not ask for anything more on that front.

The Bad: This is not an Izakaya, there is no alcohol here. The service is painfully slow and inconsistent. This includes seating confusion, attentiveness of the staff, the half hearted greeting of "Irasshaimase!" to customers (read some are greeted, some are not), and the speed of the kitchen staff. We acknowledge that each dish must be made,and the restaurant does not know it's traffic yet so things are not ready. Hopefully things will improve.

Great food slow service. Keep in mind that they were on their first day. Great customer service though. The food is a treat to look at, as well as, flavorful to eat. Definitely a nice treat in Canton. Check it out if you want something full of flavor and light at the same time. Enjoy the photos.
