Updating this to say their lunch specials might make it worth it. The food is definitely enjoyable. however, I've been to many Ethiopian spots and this by far was my least pleasant experience because the prices are way too high for me and they don't allow you to really get what you want. Which, for the price you're paying, it doesn't feel fair. They charge about $2 for substitutions if you want to go outside of their very specific and limited pairings. I much prefer the city's other options.
Dukem is a tiny little Ethiopian restaurant West of Mount Vernon, near the cultural corridor. They have very good food at a very reasonable price. We shared a combination platter, and there was plenty of food to stuff two people. They're a bit negligent on keeping drinks on the table, hence the 4 stars, but I have absolutely no complaints other than that.
Dukem is small and a bit crowded, but always a delicious adventure! Wonderful combination meals are available. This restaurant boasts a well-stocked bar.
The best (and right now I think the only reasonable place around) to get Ethiopian. Food is very good, prices not the lowest around (but that's always the case with Ethiopian, specially if you order raw meat). Too bad they don't have Ethiopian coffee ceremony, but it's still one of my favorites! If you uncomfortable with eating with your hands - bring your own cutlery
This is the best Ethiopian Restaurant in Baltimore. The food here is unbelievably the best. Very friendly and very polite servers with best customer service.
