Los Toltecos

My wife and I just returned from an early dinner. We've been to Los Toltecos numerous times, and as before, the food was quite tasty and the service friendly and efficient. So why only three stars? The music. They had rap music on the entire time we were there. It gave the place the atmosphere of a basketball game. I'm not saying that anything louder than elevator music is not acceptable. There is a lot of lively, upbeat music, preferably Mexican in a Mexican restaurant, to choose from, but to our tastes, that does not include rap. Maybe it ups their bar sales, but if that is to be their regular selection, I'm afraid we'll have to find another venue when we go out for Mexican.

Is it standard Mexican? Yes!!! I say that with exclamation because this is a town that thinks yellow cheese is okay as part of Mexican cuisine. It's not. Finding this place made me so happy. I'll be eating here and only here every time I crave Mexican. Yum.

My wife and I had a thoroughly Pleasant dining experience at this lovely and authentically decorated Mexican restaurant. Every table had a different painting on it, and there were 14 different carvings on the chairs. The furniture was all handmade and it was gorgeous. We really love the decor, and the food was just excellent. It was served quickly with no fuss. The prices were very reasonable, the wait staff stop by numerous times to double-check that everything was good, and the manager even came by three times to double-check and talk to us and ask companions about various things. This was one of the most Diner friendly Mexican restaurants I think I've ever been to. Big big big ratings for these guys, they get it. Fairly large, but still intimate was a terrific blend and the kind of place where you can enjoy a terrific peaceful relaxing meal. I highly recommend it, well worth the trip, three thumbs up.

The atmosphere in this place is very nice. I love the staff the food and their hot sauce! I got in a lot of things at Los toltecos, and even though it's a little pricey it's worth it. The portion sizes are huge, and even though it's authentic Mexican food, I'll never stray away from the seafood dishes. Very good place to eat in Frederick.
