Very clean hotel/motel with very reasonable rates for the motel rooms. Rooms are quaint with beautiful quilts on the bed. Keurig coffee and microwave in rooms. No fridge but ice is available. If stairs are a problem request their first floor rooms. Restaurant on site if you’re interested. Highly recommend! New this year: free continental breakfast with coffee included with room!
Lovely place! Lovely people. We had a room in the motel since the B & B rooms are only 1 bed. The room was comfy, the decor charming, and the one challenge we did have was remedied. We had breakfast in the dining room and the food was yummy. We would definitely return here.
From reading the previous reviews, I travelled there with high expectations. After staying there, I can't confirm the many 5*ratings this place received. The guestroom was clean and functional, even though not inviting to want to stay there for prolonged periods. Furniture was well used and aged. The whole room left an impression of having passed its better days. On the positive side, bathroom, toilet and sink were pleasingly clean. So were the bed and the sheets. Despite priding itself on heritage, the Motor Inn with the reception and dining area, which is in a separate building from the guestrooms, is in need of a major overhaul in my opinion. Wallpaper missing in the bathroom in the dining area, old and overly used interior, and a dirty floor and smudged hot food area in the dining facility of the inn (something I find absolutely despicable in any dining area), don't really call for an excellent rating. Still, judging from the flow of guests stopping in while I was there, the restaurant seems to be quite liked by locals and travellers alike. Regrettably, it didn't meet my expectations. To sum it up: It's ok if you're travelling through and need a functional and reasonably priced lodging for a night, but anything above or beyond, I' d recommend staying at one of the hotels in the area.
Just ate a meal here. Food was ok. Not served very hot. Nice quaint place. Good service. Cookies were very good. Neat old place with much history. If the food would have been hot it would have been a 5 star place.
This is a charming old Inn, built in the 1840's. Besides it's classic charm and beautiful grounds, the homemade food is very good. My wife and I had the soup and salad bar for lunch. All the soups were homemade and very tasty and the salad bar had a good selection of fresh favorites. The pie is excellent as well.
