The Jarrettsville Pit

Family went up there to visit the King and Queen seat at Rock State Park. Found this place on the way back. Was not disappointed. Great services and even better food.

Best brisket hands down! Smoked overnight and done right with a great selection of sauces done in-house.
Also the best wings!! Also smoked and done right. Great sauces for the wings too.
There are specials throughout the week ,be sure and check them out.
Wait staff and bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable about the food choices, and very attentive.

I had not heard much about this restaurant, so figured we should check it out since we are new to the area. We started with soup and chili. My wife got the cream of crab and it was very good...needed a touch more Old Bay for our tastes, but that's a preference and our server provided us with a container so we could add some. I got their chili which is made with brisket and pork. I thought it was pretty good, but a bit sweet for my taste and lacking any kind of heat (spicy heat, not temperature). I could see how some people would like it, though, just wasn't my thing.

My wife got sliders and fries and she enjoyed them. I got the meat platter with ribs, brisket, pork, and chicken. It was all cooked very well and the portions were substantial. The 1/3 of a rack that I received was what you usually get for a 1/2 rack at other places, or maybe even a bit more than that.

Our server was very nice, attentive, and knowledgeable.

We definitely plan on going back.
