Zen Garden Asian Cuisine

This was a pleasant place; plenty of space at lunch time on a Saturday. A Chinese friend treated us out, and we had the Peking duck. Like another reviewer, we were surprised that they didn't carve it for us at the table. But the duck was overall pretty good. They DID accommodate her request to make a duck-broth soup from the duck bones, which I was pretty impressed by. The server was also able to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) and take off-menu orders for traditional dishes, which is always a good sign to me.

We rented the party room which has karaoke available, but we didn't use it. The food was really good but took quite a while to prepare, even though we were practically the only ones in the restaurant. Although we did order a lot of food, so that may have had something to do with it.

Early to mid afternoon the place is generally relatively empty, so you would get seated immediately upon arrival. The dining room is large and has various sized tables to accommodate for any size party (be advised that some larger tables get reserved for dinner parties on the weekends). The place is generally clean with ample lighting and friendly wait staff. The food is prepared well and served hot from the kitchen. The variety includes some great Chinese dishes (including a Peking duck for a good-sized party - roughly $40) and some typical, run-of-the-mill Thai and Japanese dishes. One star is deducted due to the wait staff being inattentive after the food has been served (for any additional orders or beverage refills).
