Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ

Family and I ate here with no reservation but still able to eat cause the hostess able to squish in . She is so nice. Food was great and delicious. Price is just right with the quality of the food. Our server Niko is very nice and friendly. He always check on us and very attentive. I reccomend this place. We surely coming back to try the other food selection they have.

Gyu-kaku is wonderful and I hope it stays around for a long time. Highly recommend a reservation - we visited for dinner on a Thursday, and it was packed when we left. The restaurant offers discounted prices on most items during "Happy Hours", which appears to be all day Mon-Fri right now.

We chose to order a la carte and spent around as much for dinner ($80 for two) as the set options but picked exactly what we wanted to try, which we loved. Our server was attentive and explained each item's cooking time as well as making thoughtful recommendations. The portions are small if you are used to something like KBBQ, but for two we found them very adequate. All the meat is delicious and the variety of marinades mean there are lots of flavor variety.

Lunch is stellar - it is quite affordable and includes salad, rice, and 2 or 3 meats (with a considerable upcharge for some of the options). We found the lunch portions about the same as dinner and had an incredibly filling meal!

Another banger of serve yourself environment. Fun and enjoyable atmosphere to eat. Perfect for any celebration for adults, maybe for kids if they like to really take their time to eat. Overall another edition of an Asian bbq, but the stand out is more options of appetizers

Came here for a date night and was quickly seated. We ordered the meat lover combo set. I first set of entrees impressed me in terms of balance and flavors but then the meats were super disappointing. Every meat was seasoned way too sweet. Unsure if this normal but go ahead with the al la carte option and order unseasoned meats and dip into sauces if needed.

Didn't make a reservation but arrived promptly at 5:30 when they opened for dinner. I highly recommend making a reservation as we were lucky enough to get a table for a large party. Be warned that people were turned away that did not make reservations. Ordered two set meals that served 2 and 3 people to get a variety and 2 kids meals. Definitely an experience so be prepared to be there for awhile and enjoy it. Meats were seasoned & marinated very well and cooked pretty quickly on the grill. They recommended to cook a few pieces of the fatty meats at a time to avoid flare-ups. Restaurant was half full due to low staffing. The only Japanese bbq in Howard county that I know of with the closest ones in Montgomery county and northern VA. Service was wonderful as they periodically changed our grills and refilled waters and tea.
