Pana Thai

This place was awesome!! I ate here several times a week and only once did I experience anything less than perfection. Their Pad Thai was excellent and the Panang Curry was the best I ever had (4 star spicy).

I am writing in the past tense because the restaurant closed! This shopping center is abysmal, and I wish they would tare it down and put in something more appealing. When a local place with food as good as this cannot stay open it really says something about the condition of the shopping center. It is in a heavily trafficked area but people refuse to shop here because the place looks like crap. It really is a damn shame, I wish the owners the best of luck and hopefully they find a community that will support them.

A hidden GEM!!!!

Tucked away in the little strip mall of Derwood, MD is Pana Thai. Food is very good, affordable, and made fresh to order.

I would highly recommend taking a visit here.

a MUST TRY is:

1: Padsew with your choice of chicken or beef

2: Garlic Chili Praw (comes a little spicy but can get it how you want)

3: Beef Salad (fresh and spicy)

4: CHicken Basil rice

Pana Thai is dependable, good thai food. Portions are reasonable (not too small - like Thai Tavern on Rt28), and the pricing is what you would expect. This place has become a mainstay for Thai food for us in the Derwood/Rockville area.

At 8:30 we were the only table on a Saturday night. My girlfriend had the red curry and said it had no kick at all. I had the cashew chicken and was satisfied with it. The service was given in a way that suggested that they were bored and rather not be here. Food was served timely, but they did not follow up to make sure we were ok.

Pana Thai is good, as are several Thai places in the area. It's also nice that the place is relatively quiet.
