Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant

I was super excited to learn that there was a Bucca di Beppo here in Maryland. When my husband and I got married in Hawaii, our wedding dinner was held at the one in Honolulu.

This place did not disappoint at all. I read the previous reviews and here are my opinions on some of the negative. 1) The food portions, even for a small, are humungous! Literally could have this for 3 different meals and still have some left over and for 21$ it's a steal. The food was excellent, no disappointment at all. 2) The photos, especially the ones in the bathroom which my husband also pointed out, they're art. It's literally artwork. Italians are known for their art. It brought back memories because those same photos people are complaining about are the same photos my grandmother had hanging in her bathroom. There is absolutely nothing sexual or inappropriate about it, unless you make it that way. 3) We came at a time where it wasn't super busy but the nonetheless, our waiter Brian was fantastic. He didn't hover, didn't over question, and was absolutely probably one of the most polite and respectful waiters we've had. My husband asked about the possibility of buying a "dipping spice" and the manager allowed us to purchase one. Overall the experience was above 5 stars and top notch.

We will definitely be returning in the future.

Every time I have the fettuccini Alfredo. The taste is AMAZING. It does give me stomach issues, but it might not even be the food that makes me sick, just the fact that I eat so much and that it is so rich and tasty.

Wow I cannot believe someone previous said " All portions were small" ? They were huge and that was the problem for me. The food was great and well presented, but this place really is only for parties of at least 3 or 4 minimum. They do not serve any portions or have any on the menu for 1 or 2 people. So, what you end up with despite anything the waitress may say, is huge and very expensive. Granted you can take home, what you can't eat, but that would be 80% of it. Atmosphere like most US restaurants located in these shopping precincts, is non existence as are windows. Ambience virtually zero, if it weren't for Ensio the barman I would have left without ordering. Owner needs to re-vamp menu and portions and stop wasting food. Was suppose to receive a discount, as the hotel (comfort inn) recommended I visit this place, which was a 15 minute drive, but never received one.

Fun place with good, 1950s-style Italian food. If you ever went to a little Italian restaurant with your grandparents this place will feel familiar. The meals are family style which adds to the fun.
