This is the best pizza I have ever had. Initially had it in New Haven, CT. The Bethesda location was not a let down. Looking forward to the Alexandria location in the near future.
Barely average, definitely not worth a one hour wait. I could get better pizza in five minutes on any corner in NYC. The server was great, but the people at the front have an attitude. I asked for an estimate on how long the wait was and got a snotty "We don't quote the line." That's bad customer service and a real sense of "you'll be lucky to get in when you get in." I wouldn't go back unless I was at the mall already and there was no wait.
As a Marylander who fell in love with Frank Pepe’s pizza after trying it up north in CT, I was very excited to hear they were opening up a new location nearby in Bethesda. Went yesterday evening to dine in (their first Saturday they’re open), got seated within 15 mins, and the pizza was hot & fresh not even 15 mins after ordering. Upon first bite (and burning the roof of my mouth), I was impressed with how crispy and comparable it was to the CT Pepe’s - and glad that there is a decent pizza place in this area now. Although I was dining in for a short time, the waiter serving us took the time to be approachable and attentive. To all those reviewers complaining that it takes too long to order or that the pizza is “too charred” - I’m sorry you haven’t tried good pizza before.
