Lao Sze Chuan 老四川

On a Friday night, My girlfriend and I decided to try this restaurant and let me say I left happy with my experience. The hostess was very welcoming and kind. We did not have a reservation, and they did not have a table available, but they did have seats at the bar, so we sat there. The bartender's service was excellent; they took our orders very quickly. The food came out at a perfect eating temperature. Our drinks were excellent, and not to mention the restaurant is decorated very well. I would recommend Lao Sze Chuan to anyone looking for quality Chinese food.

Really nice and modern interior, different from what you’d expect from a Chinese restaurant. Servers were really nice and polite and wished us a happy Chinese New Year. The mung bean jelly and cold noodles were amazing and really authentic, the sauces it was in could make for such a nice dipping sauce. Each dish was really good but a bit expensive compared to other places where you could get similar things (guess we pay for the aesthetics and experience). Wish the dishes at least came with a bowl of rice as we had to order that separately. Be prepared for a lot of oil and salt and spice!

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our experience at Lao Sze Chuan. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly and did a great job keeping up with our requests. We were able to meet with the owner and speak with him. He recommended some of his favorite dishes to us and we loved every single one of them. The ambiance in the restaurant is beautiful. The whole experience was wonderful and we can't wait to go back!

Beautiful high ceiling dining room, looks like a luxury hotel lobby. Awesome authentic food and service. We attended a private dinner party there and were totally impressed. Not your typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant. A bit pricey, but well worth it

I have known the owners and their family since the restaurant opened. Now in all that time, I have eaten here approximately every two weeks. It is by far my favorite Asian restaurant.

Now do not get me wrong. Everyone has a bad day every once in a while. If they get an order wrong, they fix it if it was their fault. If I get it wring, I can not expect them to eat it.

I have had almost everything on the menu, with the exception of the chicken/ beef with broccoli. I frequently have items not on the menu, and they are very happy to oblige.

Over the years, yes the prices gave gone up, but so has the cost of the raw materials they use, as well as the rent, gas, insurance and everything else.

For what you get, I do not feel you can get anything better, even in NYC. I have even been to San Francisco ant the food here is just as good or better.
