My husband and I had the most wonderful anniversary dinner at the Grove tonight. We had visited when it originally opened and enjoyed it, but the recent reopening is a completely amazing and positive change for the better. Great pieces for food and drinks - we had the Chateau St Michelle Pinot Grigio, which was delicious. The crab dip was so yummy. The blossom burger was possibly the best burger I’ve ever had, with perfect fries. The scallops and risotto were better than our now second-favorite, at seasons 52. Almost blackened with a nice kick to the seasoning. Top it off with a melt in your mouth apple crisp for dessert - we will definitely be back. Our servers Mario and Molly were very attentive and helpful with the menu. I can’t wait to try the salmon and the steak egg rolls, which looked great on a table nearby. The decor was lovely and the ambiance so relaxing. Not too noisy, nice breeze from the open windows. The Grove may be our new favorite spot!
One of the eye-grabbers on the menu is black sausage from Spain, served as four tiny towers, each one of them balanced on tomato confit on a powdery crouton crowned with a sunny, dime-size quail egg. The appetizer is hard to eat in one bite (the eggs slipped off all four pieces) and not worth the trouble: The sausage was at once earthy and gummy.
While the food overall was quite good, the service was a bit chaotic & disorganized. We were left for 10 minutes without silverware, dishes were handed out to the wrong individuals, and the chef had to come out to help the server who really struggled to filet out fish. Again- the food was quite tasty & we enjoyed our experience, but the wait staff has a bit to work on. I think as they get more experience and work on ironing out the kinks in their system it’ll be a local gem!
On Valentine's Day, drawn by an article about a chef from a Michelin-rated restaurant, my wife and I visited a new neighborhood restaurant. The place featured an immersive cherry blossom theme, enhancing the dining experience. The fixed menu included lamb, lobster ravioli, and a duck option that was sold out—a dish I'd be interested in coming back to try. The food, spanning appetizers to desserts, was exceptional, showcasing the chef's expertise.
Our observations were on the casual seating in contrast with the sophisticated ambiance and the pricing. These aspects, while minor, made us think about the restaurant's ambition versus its accessibility. The experience was memorable, and we look forward to returning, especially to try the duck.
With that said, while we will definitely come back we probably wouldn't make this a regular spot mostly because in our opinion it felt slightly overpriced.
Haven’t tried lunch or dinner yet but the brunch was exceptional! Today was their second day serving brunch. Went with the family and every single dish was really good. I love that they have a kids menu and it’s a paper with games and a drawing to paint. Everything was so good! Highly recommended! The customer service was great, glass of water full and they would check on us as needed!
