The times are changing, but for the past 40 years never had better oyster than Chrisfield's. And, as one of the old style fish houses still operating they have crab Norfolk. Plump local oysters and clams always fresh shucked and served at the right temperature. The beer list is short, but has bit of range to accompany the oysters. The last visit had classics like Bass ale & Bud and a local IPA and Stout. The fries are excellent too. Very reasonable prices, especially in this town.
Whenever we are really hungry for food we can count on to be delicious ,we head for Crisfield's. Never had anything that was not perfectly prepared, fresh, and fabulous. A long time favorite!
Crisfields is an old fashioned seafood restaurant and bar that is easy to miss on Georgia Ave. Their draft beer selection is small but surprisingly good and varied. The fresh seafood, especially their raw bar, is very good and reasonably priced. That said, this is not Legal Seafood. Their chowders are so thick you can stand a spoon in them for example. Parking is also quite limited.
This restaurant has been a 5star in my family for 30yrs. All crab-stuffed entrees are superb. Flaky moist fish of your choice and shrimp. Service is excellent. Get there early and get a table one size bigger than your party cuz there's a lot of individually-plated sides. Kid food just as great as adults!
Local seafood done right. This is a cozy spot with excellent food. Although the decor is utilitarian, there is a very nice collection of oyster plates on display. This is one of my favorite spots in Silver Spring and a frequent destination for birthday celebrations.
The food is fresh and properly seasoned. The crab stuffing is not overloaded with breading. The portions are generous. Some of the best oyster stew I’ve ever tasted outside of my fathers kitchen.
If you like fresh seafood, this is the spot in Silver Spring.
