I grew up in a Muslim household so I know some foods, culture of the Muslim well. If you are looking for halal Thai foods you got to come here. I love the atmosphere and the decorations inside very much.
All authentic halaal and great tasting food using fresh vegetables.
Unfortunately, I was not impressed with my visit here at Amina Thai. Ever since moving to DC, I've heard so much about this place in terms of yummy Halal Thai food. While the food was okay, it was definitely underwhelming. The Thai iced tea was good, but basic. The Tom Yum soup I'd rate the same. The main entrees were more disappointing. There was something off about the flavors in my chicken Pad Thai. The ingredients were all there, but they didn't work well together. We also ordered the Drunken Noodles with beef. This tasted a bit better than the Pad Thai but unfortunately the taste was overshadowed by the oiliness. If you eat too much of it, you'll feel a bit sick. Overall, Amina Thai will scratch your Thai food itch, but it won't leave you wanting more.
Our family’s favorite restaurant. Not only their dishes are delicious but everything is prepared fresh. Chicken satay is juicy. I mostly order pad Thai. Because I can’t get over its original good taste I haven’t had chance to try other dishes. My wife’s favorite is a “flat noodle w beef” dish - also amazing. So far haven’t had anything less than great regarding the quality of their dishes. The only wish they had one shop in Arlington, VA... would eat there everyday.
Service wise... you may not have a waiter standing by your table the whole time you’re there, but that’s not a reason to deprive yourself delicious and filling meal.
Recommend to everyone. I guarantee you’ll be satisfied the least.
I was excited because of the halal Thai. But not so very happy about the foods. The soup was good. Also liked the curry with mango (forgot the name) and didn’t like the pineapple curry. Not as good as we expected. Fried banana was good. Also, I think the hot tea is better then ice tea since they just put ice on the tea. It looks delicious but doesn’t taste great. If you ask one thing to must have, I’ll say the fried Banana split. Their location is very good. Right in silver spring downtown. But still the Resturant was empty on a Saturday evening when we got there.
