Johnny Ray's Sultry Soul Food

I decided to give this restaurant a try after hearing good things about it from a cousin of mine who stopped past on his lunch break a few weeks ago. I came to this restaurant 3 times and they were closed. Today I decided to give them one last try before I gave up. I ordered 7 BBQ wings and some mac n cheese. From 1-10 I give this place a 10. The wings were very good! Not overly seasoned, perfect 👌. The mac n cheese was so goooood!!! I ain't had mac n cheese that good in a very long time. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

My catfish sandwich was tasty and appetizing. Didn't need to add tarter or hot sauce! My neighbors had other dishes with gravy, and stated that the gravy was so salty, they didn't enjoy their meal! Just stating their comments! Again, my order was great. I have returned and ordered the sandwich and fries again.

We got the steak fries and the sticky wings. Did not disappoint. The fries were a huge portion, and could definitely be split by a family. The wing sizes are huge, chicken cooked just right. Looking forward to trying the other sauces in the future. Really well done decoration and seating inside, so an over all great place to be.

This is hands down the best soul food I’ve ever had in Maryland. I’m very particular about my food and the quality, and no place compares to this. I’m from the south so I know what soul food is supposed to taste like and a lot of restaurants up here half a** the quality because the locals don’t know any better. The portions are great, they are reasonably priced, the customer service is top tier and the food is phenomenal and cooked with love. 10/10!

They recommended the wings with sticky sauce and I’m so glad I listened to them! They were the best wings I’ve had in a while which is no exaggeration. Their sides are also very good. I got the fries, coleslaw, and mac & cheese and was pleasantly surprised by how well everything was seasoned. Definitely going back there soon to get more wings!
