Taqueria Sabor Mixteco

These are some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Authentic from flavor, meats, to tortillas and sauce. If you are a taco lover, you have to come to try this place.
The restaurant is not fancy, but fairly clean.
Staff are friendly and genuine.
Good price for the tacos.
Parking can be hard to find at times, just be aware.

The food was fantastic! Chicken Mole Enchiladas. The owner stopped by to talk and was very nice. Highly recommend!

If you know Wheaton, you know there are food GEMS here regularly. You can add this one to the list. Always love trying the new places that come in and I hope this one stays for a while.

Great vibe and atmosphere, which is on the cozier side but chill and relaxing nonetheless.

The service was immaculate as both waiters were attentive, knowledgeable and positively spirited.

We ordered the Passion fruit agua frescas to start, alongside their housemade Queso Fundido with Chorizo. The cheese was nice and melty, and had jalapeño slices in it. Mixed with the chorizo and slapped inside a corn tortilla was a perfect bocadillo.

Our mains were tacos al pastor, de lengua and carne asada, along with a Suadero Burrito.

The tacos were solid. The lengua was nice and juicy, the carne asada was grilled to perfection and the pastor was marinated in a lovely pineapple sauce, where the flavors came through well.

The Suadero burrito was nice as the meat inside was very tender and juicy. I don’t like lettuce on my burritos, and I should’ve ordered without it but during the Cinco De Mayo celebrations and mariachis singing, I missed that detail but it didn’t disappoint regardless.

Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner here and will definitely be back soon. Happy to have Sabor Mixteca as a Wheaton establishment!

This place does all three:
1.) great food made from scratch
2.) clean restaurant with a bright atmosphere
3.) AMAZING customer service

Paul and Marisol were helping us and were super personal to people they’ve just met! They gave their personal recommendations for kids (4 & 5 y.o) from drinks to entrees.

Started off with guac and chips. Perfectly smooth avocados balanced with the diced tomatos and onions. We knew we were in good hands after our first bite.

I had the Al Pastor, Chorizo, and Suadero. 💯💯💯. Inhaled each one, especially with their homemade hot sauces.

Definitely will be a regular part of our diet

The tacos are GREAT! Delicious and great service. Will definitely be coming back with more friends & family.
