“I'm not one for writing reviews but I feel compelled to mention something. Today is my second day of stopping in to 'borrow' the wifi and get a little work done before the local library opens and PJ's is an excellent place for a good cup of coffee from friendly people. I have never been one for Starbucks and my recent visits I've had to come to grips with the cost of a boring brand. PJ's is very affordable and as I noted before the coffee is good. I haven't had any of the food so I'm not able to comment.”

“Great place for breakfast! Today I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on an Asiago bagel along with an iced caramel latte. They put plenty of bacon on the sandwich, which is great and the bagel is crispy just the way I like it. The coffee is stronger than I initially anticipated, but that’s a plus for me. “We came here during weekend afternoon, and there were many people in the sitting areas. All the breads and desserts looked neat and pretty. We tried pork fluff bread, Mexico sweet bread, chocolate lava bread, chocolate roll cake, and milk pan bread, and all of them were pretty good. The price was also pretty affordable. “I would rank Oishii right behind Menya Hosaki and Oki Bowl in terms of best Japanese ramen/soup spots in the DMV. Yep, it's that good! Not only do some offerings hit peak level deliciousness (and that isn't just the ramens, but some of the BEST BOBA out there), but the sheer creativity in the menu will keep me coming back over and over again. Dish/drink ratings below: 1) Tarantula Ramen (5/5) - Sometimes, when you throw a variety of cool sounding ingredients together, it doesn't work, so when I saw soft shell crab tempura + shrimp + squid, I was a bit skeptical. But wow does this all go together! The lobster broth gives such a warming feeling with its smoothness and subtle spiciness. And the addition of fresh chunks of mushroom are a perfect compliment. It's hard not to compare this ramen to Oki Bowl's soft shell crab offering, which is cheaper and gives you a bigger portion of crab, though I think I'd rate this slightly higher overall due to the broth and other ingredients that work in such harmony. 2) Volcano Ramen (2/5) - Even though Oishii is unquestionably 5 stars, this was a big miss. Not only did none of the ingredients go together, but the broth itself was unpleasant to the taste. I had never tried pork bulgogi in a ramen, and it just didn't taste of high quality nor pair with the broth or noodles at all. 3) Tidal Special Drink (5/5) - Within the context that BOBA IS MY HAPPY PLACE, this was one of the best ones I have EVER had. $8.99 might seem hefty, but there is a lot of ube, a lot of fresh mango, and a lot of pudding in this, all of which was scrumptious. Trust me, you get your money's worth, and each of the ingredients is separated in a way that you can taste them distinctly, or mix together at your discretion (choose your own adventure!). SO FREAKING GOOD. 4) Tsunami Special Drink (4.5/5) - With tons of strawberry, pink boba, and cheese mousse, it's kind of like drinking a strawberry cheesecake if you dropped it in the Quantum Realm! It's super sweet in a good way, and the only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because of a bit too much cheese mousse vs. actual drink ratio. My only small gripe with Oishii is the prices feel just a bit too high. $19.99 for some ramens, even if they have unique ingredients, is a bit much, and its hard not to look at Menya Hosaki and Oki Bowl and feel like the prices should be more comparable (as in lower). That being said, Oishii is amazing overall, and I can't wait to come back to try the other ramens (such as the ribeye steak) and drinks (basically every single one on the special menu).”

“I went in Saturday late afternoon, the line went fast and have many choices. This bakery has two serving areas, one side for sweets and the other side for savory pastries. There is a shelf of French imports by the entrance and a few outdoor seating. The store is bright and spacious. I got two desserts, lower one is a açaí sweet and top one is Napoleon pastry. “My wife and I have lived in this neighborhood for several years and this store is fantastic. We routinely get breakfast sandwiches, lunch, snacks, wine and beer here. They have wine tastings here on select nights as well. My wife and I have been here hundreds of times and have never had a bad experience. The owner Tenny and her family are wonderful. Once last year, the air conditioning in our apartment building went out during a heat wave last year. When Tenny overheard us complaining about it one afternoon, she unplugged on of the fans she had going in the store and lent it to us on the spot. We LOVE Friendship Gourmet!!”

“My partner and I just went for our first time at Tatte and had a wonderful experience! Reading some of the other reviews Tatte has definitely made some changes based on the feedback. The interior, which is beautifully decorated, is now labeled for ordering and pick-up. The staff were very friendly and attentive. “My boys just hit 4 months and we had been waiting. The website makes it easy to "register" your pets. Uploaded copies of my vet records and they had them when I called a few minutes later. Upon arrival the staff is very friendly and helpful getting you checked in. After we confirmed today was the first day they were eligible... We were welcomed in. Upon entering the gate lots of friendly pups came up to say hi. Not an aggressive one amongst them. Walked over to the "under 30 lbs area" and put the boys down. They were a little timid but every guest nearby came over to pet them. In 90 minutes there I, met a bunch of happy friendly "dog people". The place does not smell like a dog park at all. And everyone seems right at home with a beer, coffee or soda. The food options are a little limited and I would probably recommend eating at one of the nearby restaurants. I would have like to have had more tables. It's really difficult to eat sitting so low with dogs everywhere. But on my way out, I noticed a air conditioned indoor area. I probably should have sat there. The rangers wander around and help with doors and pick up after dogs. I saw one "fight" broken up quickly by the ranger. Everyone was fine and no one got tossed out. The pups just needed a reminder. I only wish there was one in the little dog area. It would have made me more comfortable to maybe have a drink or something. If this were closer I would probably be back tomorrow. The boys were out as soon as we got home.”

Welcome to Starbucks" personality but the type to really ask you how your days going! “It's fine. It's a 7-11. Very few convenience stores have bathrooms for customers. Not a deal-breaker. Coffee is the same and kept fresh most of the time. They run out of milk (for coffee) too often but they always have plenty of half-and-half and french vanilla (shudder). Good parking lot for trucks.
