It has been 18 years since my last visit to The Hobbit, and a lot has changed. The new restaurant is gorgeous, with outstanding water views from nearly every seat in the place. It definitely beats it's competition in that regard.
I had the chicken corn cream chowder and the wife had the crab soup to start. Both were magnificent.
For the main course I had the perogies and the wife had the crab cakes. The perogies were simply amazing. The crab cakes though lacked a little flavor. They had no filler and were all crab meat, but could have used a seasoning of some type. Almost, but not quite perfect for the price.
Otherwise, The Hobbit is one of the best fine dining options in Ocean City.
This restaurant came very highly recommended to us. We tried and so glad we did..I recommend it very highly. We were seated promptly..our dinner was out of this world. The staff is so friendly and professional. This place is gorgeous inside and the most outrageously beautiful views of the Assawoman Bay Bridge and the St. Martin River Bridge! We are 100% satisfied customers. If there were 10 stars, I would give them.
We have always enjoyed having dinner at the Hobbit restaurant. We went there for many years before it was renovated. It was always a great dining experience. We visited tonight, after many years. It is beautifully renovated and is still a great dining experience.
Beautiful facility; excellent view; delicious food; friendly staff, but, $31 for lamb shank and NO house salad!! The wife had house salad with her turkey but I had no house salad with the lamb?! That is bad form!
We’re staying at a hotel on the boardwalk just for one night and googled restaurants near us, to which this one came up and I am glad it did. From the moment we walked to the restaurant, our experience was just absolutely stunning. They had a doorwoman open the door upon our entrance. We went on a busy Saturday evening without a reservation and were fearful that we either would not be accommodated or would have a very long wait. We waited for all of 5 minutes before being seated. We also had our infant son with us and they were nice enough to seat us at a bigger table just to have a safe spot for him and his car seat. The warm bread & butter, appetizers, and entrees were phenomenal. Waiter (Gabriel) was very attentive and made sure our experience was one to be remembered. Oh, and the atmosphere was so nice. We could even see the sunset over the ocean from our table and it was gorgeous. I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
