Smokin’ Sam’s BBQ

We tried Sam's BBQ today per recommendations and it did not disappoint. We got the brisket melt, Mac and cheese, and the boom boom shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. The prices are very reasonable. We will be back! I couldn't get a picture of the brisket melt because we ate it too quickly. We will be back.

Got the brisket sirloin dinner for two! Meat was good! One tiny Cole slaw and a tiny corn bread for two people! Very skimpy! Should be 2 coleslaws and 2 breads! Beans were good! Will try one more time!

So first of all I got the Alabama Sirloin melt and I have to say this was one of if not the best steak sandwich I’ve ever had. The fries were better then boardwalk quality fries a little soggy but still freaking absolutely delicious. I plan on trying all the lunch specials and I’ll report back how they all are. The only downside is theirs not really a place to sit down at all except to wait for your food, overall great place to eat I’ve been telling everyone to go here. This is probably the best carry out place near the ocean city area, try it and you won’t be sorry.

I feel bad leaving a bad review. I know this place is brand new. Only reason I'm reviewing is in hopes they'll make some adjustments so they can be successful. Then again maybe we just got unlucky and other people have a different experience. I'll start with the good.. the pulled pork tasted very good and the portion was extremely generous. The coleslaw tasted good. The bad..first of all, everything was cold. It was clearly sitting there a while even though we picked up exactly when it said to. The fries...soggiest fries we've ever had. Down right wet and floppy. The collard greens....what is this (see picture). It was just the liquid. I stuck my fork in thinking the broth was just sitting on top. Nope..just liquid the whole way through with a few tiny shreds of greens floating around. The pit beef sandwiches were ok but inconsistent amounts of meat..a lot on one, not so much on the other. It wasn't dry but a little over cooked and sliced too thick. The buns were too small for the sandwich too. Based on this experience, we probably wouldn't go back but since they are new, maybe we'll give it some time and try again. It had potential, but definitely need some work.
