Staff serves the buffet. Small but quaint.
Disappointing
My boyfriend and I purchased a package deal for this hotel. In this package there were two vouchers for the breakfast buffet.
On Saturday morning, as we were happily heading to breakfast, we were turned down by the servers because they were told by management to close and hour early. Signs in our hotel room, and elsewhere clearly stated "Breakfast Until 11:00".
We brought it to the attention of the woman at the desk, and she basically, said, "Oh well". We were not offered any sort of compensation or even an apology.
We had to go purchase breakfast elsewhere... even though we had already paid for breakfast at the Town Crier.
I'll start with the positive: the women I dealt with up front/on the phone seemed very nice. Double room, has basic TV, fridge, microwave, AC, free WiFi. Not far from beaches. For a quick overnight, I can see this as a decent enough place. And I totally disagree about no good food in the area. There's tons of excellent places within minutes... I've eaten like a king and not just fried/fast food.
Other than that, I don't think I'd stay at this place again. The beds are uncomfortable, the room is dark, decor is very old, there's no toiletries except for some cheap hand soap. On one side of the hotel there's a big seafood & mini-golf place that is loud and my room smells like food all the time. The other side of my room faces the parking lot and there is no sheer privacy curtain that lets light in. So I have to keep the drapes closed and have no sunlight or fresh air in the room at all. When I arrived, I had no hot water, however eventually was shown that the faucet was installed backwards. (So you have to turn on cold to get the hot)
I love the Cape - spent most of my summers here in different areas... and I don't mind that there is a certain "charm" you expect from some older places... But this isn't a cozy cottage. Its a motel. They could have a good thing here if they updated a bit, but it seems like either they don't really care, or can't keep up.
