So who reviews a chow mein sandwich? The usual place I like was actually out of chow mein sandwiches so I decided to take the 6-minute ride to this place on 06/05/2019. Never been here before so I figured a chow mein sandwich would be an indication of how this restaurant is. Staff was friendly and prompt and since I was the only customer there I got my sandwich right away. I got it to go and went out to my car. First thing I noticed the bag was a little wet on the bottom. Probably from me not holding it level. Open the bag and the usual rectangular styrofoam container appeared filled to the brim. I open it up to see the top of the usual hamburger bun however it appears that the gravy filling seems to be about 1/3 bean sprouts and 2/3 chow mein with slices of pork intermingled. The gravy, if that's what you call it, filled the container to overflowing. I inadvertently tilted the container and spilled hot gravy all over my shirt and pants. I suppose that bean sprouts might be a little healthier for you then the chow mein itself but this was a lot more bean sprouts then any place I've eaten chow mein so far. There was so much gravy even after the bottom part of the bun soaked it up that it's still was almost to the top. I did eat most of it and I can't say it was terrible, but it had about a quarter inch of gravy left in container. It's just not quite like the chow mein sandwich that I prefer which is a lot less gravy, more chow mein, and a little bit of vegetables mixed in. My usual place has a much larger sandwich for about the same price they wrap it and put it in a tray. There is some gravy but not much. I have heard other people refer to this kind of chow mein sandwich as "strained". Although I have never referred to this when I order. I'm guessing this is how they serve all the time. I may try getting a regular meal from here to try at some point in the future, but their menu doesn't seem to feature any lunch special combos as a few other places do like from 11AM to 3PM and such. I just would not get a chow mein sandwich from here again.
