Merrill's on the Waterfront

We sat on the deck facing the marina. It was a beautiful night & the food was unbelieveable awesome. The wait staff was so down to earth & very attentive to our needs. I can not wait to go back.

I went to Merrill's on an August Friday night, arriving about 7:30pm. There was a 30 - 40 minute wait but once seated, there were no delays. Waitress arrived immediately and was attentive and pleasant. She was helpful with recommendations. Had the wing appetizer that was very good. I had the salmon on a plank, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus. All very good, served at the correct temperature. I washed it down with a chilled glass of Chateau Ste Michelle.

We were seated by the window where we could see the fishing boats.

Overall a very good meal in a very nice atmosphere. Best of all, it was reasonably priced in my opinion. I would eat there again. Most important, there is adequate parking unlike The Black Whale just up the road.

What a great place to eat. Even though the name has changed the food is still amazing but I missed the aolie sauce that used to be on the fried calamari appetizer. The service is great and friendly and so is the atmosphere. Unlike the Black Whale you can get fried clams and a martini. It is a fantastic addition to the restaurants downtown. Check it out you will not be disappointed!

I attended a wedding here recently and had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the venue itself is well appointed and in such a unique location on New Bedford's working waterfront. The wedding size was fairly large, maybe 200, but always felt that the servers were looking out for me. We're blessed in this area to have a lot of places for seafood, but Merrill's earns the right to be an upscale restaurant. Can't wait to return.
