“I bought three fish and chip plates. It was my first time there and the guy at the bar taking my order was super friendly. Talked for a few minutes while waiting for the food. The fish was HUGE pieces of cod and boy was it tasty. It was friend to a nice golden brown. Plus they give you a generous portion of French fries with out giving you way to many. The price is good as well. $12 will get you a large plate which is even enough for two people. Plus the bar guy was a union worker like myself. Union strong!!”

“Arrived in this neighbor for some errands and tried the cafe. Very difficult to find as the door is not obvious for tourists or non residents. Street parking and it takes time for the food to arrive. Clean environment and bathrooms. Portuguese soup very tasty and so is the Portuguese bread. We tried both grilled chicken over lettuce and seafood mix with rice. Both are fantastic. Mussels little neck clams and scallops wonderfully prepared. It's a hidden gem of new Bedford.”

“I love this place. Simple fresh home made type food. I love going in and being told "take my elbows from the table, get off my phone or that I had better finish that". This place is one of the few dining gems left. The feeling is very "homey" and it has had the same decor for decades. A perfect example of the fact that a place doesn't need anything fancy too be great. Let the food and staff speak for it. By far my and my wife's favorite place to go.”

I opted for a waffle cone w strawberry cheesecake ice cream It was huge! My friend ordered an extra thick shake which she said was very good. Parking is a little crazy.
