Three Cod Tavern

A local favorite, Three Cod is not a fancy place. But it's warm and cozy and welcoming, whether you hail from Marbehead or any other corner of the world. It's a place where family and friends and visitors gather and mingle. It offers traditional New England seafood that is always fresh and delicious. Chip, the co-owner, was a bartender at Maddie's for years and learned everything he needed to know about good food, good grog, and good service... not to mention a generous pour. I wage an inner debate on every visit... haddock or the baked stuffed shrimp, both of which have always been terrific. And if in the mood for beef, their steak tips are tender and yummy. The tavern side is generally crowded, with the locals cheering on whichever Boston team is playing that night. The dining room is quieter, but less fun if you're into socialization. Great place for lunch or dinner.

Some of the best food we've had on the North Shore where competition is steep. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. Service is fabulous. Our favorites - everything we ordered! Best ever fish sliders, baked shrimp, baked scallops, lobster roll, clam chowder and onion rings. A feast for four and everyone was impressed.
