After being on my 'to do' list since they opened, we finally visited. I was really surprised and disappointed. We had multiple problems there, but I don't want to detail them here because, our terrific server, Zoe, was so kind and apologetic even though the problems were in the kitchen, and had nothing to do with her. She addressed our concerns completely. Thank you Zoe!
I will give my opinion on a few things though, to help others make their own decisions. They open at 4pm and we arrived at 4:30. This was on Monday.
This is mainly a bar, with a huge drink menu, that offers a small menu of 'Southern Food'. In my experience, Southern food is mainly basic, inexpensive, comfort food, in large portions. Stanzey's, though, IMO, is trying too hard to appear as though it is 'fine dining' For example, the fried green tomatoes appetizer, though tasty, is three thin slices of breaded, fried green tomato drizzled with remoulade...and costs $10! The serving size is not even a HALF of a good sized tomato. The chicken fried steak portion is also very small, maybe 4 oz. The atmosphere is cold and dark, mainly hardwood and metal, and their seats are terribly uncomfortable (wood at the tables, metal at the bar). Granted, I have MD and have lost most of the muscle (cushion) on my butt due to atrophy, but anyone with spine or hip problems would NOT want to sit on those chairs for longer than a few minutes. Considering it took exactly two hours for us to arrive, order, get our food, eat and leave, I'm sore as hell today! Anyway, here are some photos, maybe this place is more geared toward rich college age kids who come to drink. They have a Bourbon that is $125. per shot!

I'm not a fan of country music but the food and whiskey list more than made up for it. It's really hard to find places around here that have even half as broad of a bourbon/whiskey selection. They've only been open for a month but the place is already doing really well and the service staff and kitchen seem pretty on top of their game.

I was also thrilled to see they've got a solid selection of gluten free options, since I have several relatives and friends that are gluten sensitive and now there's a new place for us to go!

On our first visit we only ordered a bunch of appetizers since we had other plans that night, but everything was great and we will definitely be back to try out the other items on the menu.

Staff is very helpful and lot of things to do while you eat and drink ... it’s fun place to go..

I visited Stanzy's tonight after finishing up at work with the intention of getting a drink and checking the place out. Ended up staying for an extra drink and wished that I hadn't eaten beforehand. The atmosphere, service and even the guests they had inside made for a great experience. There was a mix of different types of people including younger, older and even elected city officials that I knew who were visiting tonight. I didn't want to leave a review until I had a meal here but my first impression is positive enough for me to say that Stanzy's is a great addition to Peabody Square. I'll update my review after ordering some food on my next visit, which will certainly be very soon!

Edit: Went back for Mac and cheese and a pulled pork sandwich. They were delicious! Very tasty food and the apple crisp dessert was very good too! Excellent job.

Awesome place to try some authentic southern style food. Friends and I explored the menu and tried a variety of the staples including hush puppies, biscuits and a burger along with apple crisp and donuts. We loved everything, really want to try a couple more drinks the cough syrup mixed drink was a little weak.
