Great friendly staff, but food could have been better. I thought my grand plate came with more than just eggs and 1 choice of meat. I like the 50's Diner better.
Had another unforgettable dining experience at Bernie's, and yes..for the second time in a row I "accidentally" ordered the conductor's cut when I had already decided on the regular. First time, had to be my mis-steak, now I am not so sure. ????
Spotlessly clean establishment. Great service, the waitstaff is professional, friendly and attentive and the kitchen ROCKS! Everything was hot and perfectly prepared. We really love the dining car experience at Bernie's Depot, keep up the great work. We shall return.
Oh yeah...a few Friday's ago my Lady and I came by for breakfast! What a TREAT! The portions are HUGE and delicious. Thanks again for multiple great dining experiences over the many years I have been a customer.
Loved this place! Very charming interior and the train cart is beautiful! If you can definitely get a seat inside. If you cant the rest of the place is still very nice. Very quaint. The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are HUGE which is very nice for leftovers. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be coming back
Ask for their Stuffed French Toast. I had the Banana Stuffed, I wanted Strawberry. They managed to find just enough left for me to have a combination of both!
Service is excellent! Be patient and wait for your food. It's well worth the wait.
All I can say about the prime rib is WOW. I ordered the caboose and brought more than half home. It did need salt but the exterior was seasoned nicely and I really enjoyed it. My fiance had the world's largest fried seafood platter! The shrimp and whole belly clams were great and everything had a nice light batter. Two others in our party had baked stuffed shrimp which were very large and they enjoyed them although both said they've had better. Another had the grilled sirloin which which was cooked nicely and she liked it very much. Only downers were the clam chowder which three people had and all said was clammy but very bland, and the Mac and cheese which tasted burnt. Since there were five of us and we wanted to eat on the train we were given the back private room which we were excited about until we walked in. The rest of the train was decorated with lighted Garland with shamrocks and was very pretty and festive. The back room was not much more than a large closet. No windows, no Garland...not a picture on the wall. That was a big surprise and we were disappointed but laughed it off. All in all we had fun and the food was good and the portions more than generous. We will definitely be back but in a smaller group so we can sit in the fun part of the train!
