    According to the pizza box, this is an establishment with a long history in New England, and the official pizza of the Patriots. Both of these statements made sense, as the pizza was nowhere near authentically Italian (nor was it the New York pizza I adore), and the Patriots are better known for cheating than for pizza.

    That said, our visit to the Mass Pike pizza stop was actually more enjoyable than you might think. The pizza was pretty good (though a little pricey), and I enjoyed a delicious cherry vanilla Dr Pepper, after the counter attendant pointed me to the soda machine with a helpful "it's right over there, bud."

    I won't pretend this is destination pizza, but it certainly was a welcome break from McDonalds.
