White Hut

Decided to take a trip to West Springfield to shop for furniture. The White Hut is always a hit for burgers and hotdogs as well as fries. Very busy but the staff work very efficiently to get the products to the customers. Shakes are very good, try one.

Great little burger place - the menu is simple - burgers or dogs and fries. Fast service. Old school bottled sodas and shakes. Everything is made to order. If you are newbie - order the base burger or hot dog first ... e.g. Hot Dog fried (short for fried onions) or Cheeseburger Fried. Once they do the grill part they will ask you what you want on it. The Fried onions are really good ... they slow cook them on the grill. They serve beer too.

Always love the fried onions on the cheeseburger like they've done for 80 years! Quick and friendly service as always. Generous amount of onion rings. Great food.

The White Hut is iconic in the area because it's been around forever as a result of their excellent service and amazing food. The menu remains simple as it focuses mostly on hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries, but they now offer new things like fountain drinks, soft serve ice cream, and more. They're also famous for their fried onions which I reccomend giving a try. The experience of being here is also very unique. Seating is limited, but regardless if you're seated or not the experience is roughly the same since you tell whoever is behind the counter your order and then you're handed it (on napkins or paper plates usually) shortly after. In addition to fountain drinks you can grab a drink (such as a soda) from one of 2 refrigerators located at the back of the restaurant. During rush times there's a whole lot of yelling your order over other people who are seated to the staff, but I swear they never ever get it wrong no mater how many people are there. After you've eaten your meal (or if you got your food and want to take it to go) you approach the cashier who then asks you what your ordered, you pay, and then you leave. This simple honest relationship between the restaurant and the customers gives the White Hut the charm it's had since it opened. Overall this by far makes them the best place to get a burger in the West Springfield/Springfield area.

This is a must try! So classic, so easy, so inexpensive, so tasty. The fries are incredible, the burgers are perfected (get the fried onions) and the dogs are glorious. Feed three people for only $17??? Too good to pass up
