Hanami Sushi Bar & Grill

My first time at the Hanami Sushi Bar. Took my nephew who is back in town, to celebrate. One of the BEST Japanese restaurants I have ever been to! Interesting and unusual menu (quite international), great drinks, live music (but not too loud, so you could talk...) and wonderful and kind wait staff. The decor was lovely too! I recommend Hanami Sushi Bar highly!

I went in on Sunday around 12:30 with 2 of my friends and sat at the bar. The waitress was sweet but I can't remember her name.
I got hot sake and an assortment of sushi, sashimi, and appetizers. Everything was delicious. My friends got the spicy edamame and gyoza, and they were both delicious.
I got chu toro, o toro which are very rare where I'm from so I enjoyed them very much.

Hanami is the best! We always get veggie sushi - sweet potato and plantain are our favorites. The miso soup and veggie dumplings are great too!

I only had the ramen, so I'll only speak to the ramen. The best things I can say about the ramen are that it was filling and inoffensive. The meat tasted like thick-cut deli roast beef, the noodles tasted like cup ramen, and the mushrooms were rubbery. I think of tonkotsu broth as being creamy & rich; this is thin & clear broth. At $19 a bowl, I cannot help but compare it to much better ramen in the area, like Yume Wo Katare.

Atmosphere is lovely, nice ambiance.

Went down to try out the new Restaurant in Belmont. It was a very pretty place. Nice open space. Cool Asian themed painting on the wall, and nice wood accents. Food was good. I ordered the sushi boat for one and thoroughly enjoyed it. Word of warning, their wasabi is spicy 🔥 (it is the real deal). Service was good too, the waiter came over several times to fill my glass and the owner was active, coming over to say hi and check in on things.
