This place was out of sight! Mexican food is my wife and I's go to when looking for dining out and we've tried a ton of places in the area. This place is in the ranking for the best.
The chips and salsa come with red salsa (some heat to it) the Verde (sweeter, but not too sweet) and then a bean dip with meat and cheese in it. Each of them were fantastic.
I ordered steak fajitas and my wife got the chicken enchiladas with red sauce. Honestly, the rice that came with both the dishes felt like the most authentic (I'm guessing, never actually been to Mexico) I'd ever had. The steak and veggies for the fajita were cooked perfect, well seasoned. The enchilada sauce was the best red sauce I've ever had. Just the right bump of heat. Chicken in the enchiladas was super moist and flavorful.
You know the small salad that always comes with Mexican entrees? Yeah, this is one you'll actually eat. It's lightly pickled cabbage and tomatoes. Great for cleansing the palate
Portions were a good size, we were there for lunch and were having leftovers for dinner tonight.
My only regret was that I could not sample a margarita.
Atmosphere is great and very clean. Services has been great everytime we have gone. Food is always fresh and delicious. I love their fresh chips and salsa tray.
Really good Mexican food. Came here for the first time, got more than I expected. Highly recommend ordering the Guacamole as a starter, I was amazed by how good it was. As for tacos get the Tacos Mechados. This is what upper scale Mexican is, for a good price
This was my first time here and it was a really good experience. We were greeted almost immediately upon being seated and we were well attended the entire stay. I really wish I could remember our servers name but she was awesome! Didn't hover or push but knew exactly when to come by the table. Food was excellent and we did not have to wait. We ordered the nachos with chicken for an appetizer and they were fabulous. I had the steak tacos which were also fabulous. I next time maybe won't get an app because I couldn't finish my entree but that is just me. Also, they carded all of us when it is clear I am WELL beyond 21, but my boys are just 21. Means they care about who they serve alcohol and they also asked us if we had a food allergy (I do, to shrimp) which I told them and when they brought out the chips and salsa they asked again and when I told the server (a different one) he then said "then this is safe for you" I dont know if this a new general practice restaurants are adopting but I was impressed. I will be back!
So I had been avoiding this place, because it replaced Papa Razzi and had been told that it was a sports bar. I found, much to my surprise, that the screens were less obtrusive than many establishments that aren't labeled as a sports bar. The main seating areas is off-line from the screens enough that they are not intruding on the dining experience. The food is more Mexican fusion than authentic Mexican. It is very delicious, so as long as I'm not desiring very authentic Mexican, it's more than adequate. The staff was very sensitive to keeping me gluten free. The portions were large enough and delicious enough that my friend and I almost needed to be rolled home. Cider on draft which is surprising, but not a bad thing. I haven't had the Sangria or Margaritas yet. I was not super into the idea of sprite in Sangria, so I didn't get one. I would prefer a non-high fructose soda instead. Good atmosphere for a special occasion or date. Super convenient location near the light on 9.
