Waxy O'Connor's

By appearance, a fairly standard Irish pub, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality - definitely a cut above the standard pub fare I had expected. I had the Jambalaya, and while the portion size was smaller than I would like for the price, the meal was excellent.

Great place to go for drinks with coworkers after a rough day. Service is good. Food is great. Prices are reasonable. Live music some nights. All around, great place.

The food was hot. Had the roast beef dip. Could tell not cut off a roast, more likely "packaged" roast beef. Onions were saute, not caramelized. So best I can say is food was hot.

This is a decent place to go sometimes. When there's a lot of people, it's not as relaxing as when its fairly dead. I don't like the noisy bar atmosphere on a good day. The only food I had was their big pretzel. A bit over priced in my opinion but delicious. The server was pretty cool. I was with my friend when we went and shes pretty picky about her food and drinks so there was a lot of "I'm only 19, I don't know many drinks" from our server. That's perfectly understandable!

Overall, I would return for drinks and an appetizer. It's a bit pricey so make sure you have a good amount of money. If you dont like all the noise of a bar, you might not like it. There isn't really separation between bar and dining area.

I would have to say this has been one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I know that's a bold statement with all they types of restaurants out there these days but when it comes to hospitality, environment and food I don't think you can beat it. You actually get food worth the price.
