I tried the Rachel Sandwich, both pastrami and turkey and it did not disappoint!
Barry’s is a nice hidden gem in Newton.

One of my coworkers brought me to this place. I've been working in Newton for years now and only just found it. The food is absolutely fantastic, and you get a whole lot of it for what you pay for. Staff were very nice and welcoming. They whipped up my take out order quickly even with numerous other customers. I can't recommend these folks enough 👍

First time back in exactly 40 years (moved to the south and then didn't go back after I moved back). Introduced my wife to Jewish penicillan (matzo ball soup) as she needed some comfort food and a road trip and you can't get it in Concord NH. Plus I needed a good turkey reuben. She also added a 1/2 chicken salad sandwich. Both of us had potato salad. Her soup was awesome. Large chunks of chicken, carrots and celery, homemade noodles and a good size, extremely tasty matzo ball. She is a convert. The chicken salad was tasty and paired with the soup made a filling lunch. The turkey reuben was large, filled with turkey, delicious sauerkraut and Swiss done just right on the grill so you got a bonus fried piece on each half (one of my favorite parts). Even though the potato salad was sweet my southern born wife still enjoyed 1/2 of it and I finished mine and the rest of hers. The 1/2 dill was fresh and crisp, made a great counterpoint to the meal. Can't wait to go back and get a corned beef I just won't wait 40 years.

Lovely deli that, upon entering, immediately floods your senses with the intoxicating scent of pastrami and corned beef. Great selection of (delicious) bagels, ready made items like soups and latkes, and desserts. Had their Reuben as I do to judge the quality of any sandwich shop I visit, and was blown away. A++ will be back again soon.
