The Bluebird Bar

A winner all around! Friendly professional staff, delicious food, comfortable and attractive space, great service. Felt safe, pandemic-wise, with enough space between tables, staff wearing masks. Loved the whiskey smash cocktail (tasty yet not over-sweet), the panko-crusted haddock over potatoes and arugula (divine!), and the Arctic char skewer (melt-in-the-mouth tender!). However, there is room for improvement - chicken thigh skewers were bland, mushroom dish had a little too much cream (more like a soup). A plus: menu is short and interesting. Can’t wait to return!

Owner Dave and staff were friendly. Beautiful inside. Cocktails were excellent. Music is good but way too loud. Luckily we were seated in the quietest corner away from the bar, but when I asked if the music could be turned down, I was told no. The hummus and muscles were good. The steak and lamb kabobs and french fries were good as well. The chicken kabobs were very uncooked and under-seasoned, disappointing since I love chicken kabobs. The drinks took awhile to come but the wait was worth it, esp for Margaritas and Mai Thais.

Went here on the recommendation of my in laws. It was an excellent experience! My wife and I were on the first date night without our son since he was born and were treated so well by a wonderful staff. Special shout out to Jordan the bartender who made some amazing cocktails and was super attentive all night. We had some skewers and the fish of the day and they all came out so so well. I know a lot of newer places don't have all of the kinks worked out yet but they really seem to be banging on all cylinders here. It was a great time and I'm already looking forward to coming back!

I stalked the opening of this restaurant for so long and it was well worth it. From the moment you step in the door and are greeted by the owners you can tell this place is special. The large bar is the center of the space, while comfortable banquets line the outside. From the tin under-lit ceiling, to the smooth jazz playing in the background, this place is the essence of laid-back luxury. When you look out the window at the West Newton Cinema, you feel like you could be in a scene from the 1920s. The creative yet familiar cocktails and comforting, delicious food, however, could only come from a modern kitchen and an owner who cares. I can't wait for my next trip.

Such a wonderful addition to West Newton. We had such an amazing dinner filled with delicious cocktails, I highly recommend the Chronic Iced Tea 2021 or the margarita! Their wine selection has something for everyone. The menu is original and everything that we ordered was unbelievable. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting and we were pleasantly surprised to find that they played vinyl! When we left it was wonderful to see that they were starting to get busy. I hope it continues as you can tell they have thought of every detail and really care about the people who come in. I can’t recommend Bluebird enough! We will definitely be back! 5 stars all around-food, drinks, service and atmosphere. What more could you want?
